Here are two more timeless items from Paul Harvey’s For What It’s Worth:

Our For What It’s Worth Department predicts that the United Presbyterian Church in Spencerport, New York will be packed.

This week’s church bulletin promises that “both church choirs will sin together.”

More?  All right.

From the South Minneapolis Church Newsletter, quote:  Tomorrow afternoon there will be meetings in the north and south ends of the church.  Children will be baptized at both ends.

End quote.

Our For What It’s Worth Department is aware that the community of Speedway is an Indianapolis suburb.

SPEEDWAY is where the Indianapolis SPEEDWAY is located.

It was in SPEEDWAY that police stopped and arrested a motorist for drunk driving.

They took the accused drunk driver to the police station–allowed him to make his one telephone call.

Which he did.

Within minutes all phones were ringing off the wall–there and everywhere.  Townspeople calling to complain they had no water–their water had been cut off!

Eventually the police remembered the guy they’d arrested for drunk driving–was named Max Williams.

And they remembered he’d made a phone call.

And they remembered that Max Williams is Supervisor of the City Water Department!
