If you knew that violent crime could be reduced by eighty percent by outlawing the private possession of firearms for any purpose whatsoever–including hunting–would you favor such a law?

There is no way in hell that violent crime could be reduced by eighty percent by outlawing the private possession of firearms for any purpose whatsoever.
