WHY IT MATTERS TO US

In the early Nineteenth Century, self-serving White families began moving onto Cherokee land in Georgia.  The U.S. Supreme Court had ruled that no White settlements were legal on that land–that it was the Cherokees’ land.  Then President Andrew Jackson, with the approval of Congress, decided to act against the decision of the Supreme Court–not only allowing those self-serving White settlers to stay on that Cherokee land, but removing the Cherokees from it entirely.

Now, in the early Twenty-first Century, self-serving Jewish families have begun moving onto Palestinian land in the West Bank.  The Israeli Supreme Court has previously ruled that no Jewish settlements are legal on that land–that it is the Palestinians’ land.  Now Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, with the approval of the current Israeli government, has decided to act against the previous decision of the Israeli Supreme Court–allowing those self-serving Jewish settlers to stay on that Palestinian land–with the obvious intention of removing the Palestinians from it entirely.

Our United States federal government supported the removal of Native Americans from their land–which led to a holocaust of Native Americans entirely.

And our United States federal government supports the removal of Palestinians from their land–which is leading to a holocaust of Palestinians entirely.

And just as our European-American ancestors were personally responsible for what their federal government did in the Nineteenth Century, we Americans of today are personally responsible for what our federal government does in the Twenty-first Century.

We Americans are more responsible for the actions of our government–at the federal, state, and local levels–than the people of any other nation on earth. Because we Americans have more power over the actions of our government–at the federal, state, and local levels–than the people of any other nation on earth.
