FOR THE RECORD

DIABOLICAL SOCIOPATHS

“Another story, also in Sunday’s edition of the News Journal, incorrectly stated to whom Scott Mayo was referring in a quotation.  Mayo, who was quoted at the Confederate monument rally, referred to the Pensacola City Council, Pensacola Mayor Ashton Hayward and the Escambia County Commissioners as ‘diabolical sociopaths.'”

Pensacola News Journal, Tuesday, August 29, 2017

I don’t recall referring to the Pensacola City Council members as “diabolical sociopaths”—I didn’t even know their names (I reside just outside the Pensacola city limits, so I’ve only had to deal with the diabolically sociopathic Escambia County Commissioners—and with the diabolically sociopathic Mayor of Pensacola). But if I did, it was under the presumption that they were politicians—not the knowledge that they were.

As aforementioned in this blog, not all public officials and political leaders are diabolically evil, because not all public officials and political leaders are politicians. But most of them are politicians—all over the world.  And most of them have always been politicians—all over the world.  And all politicians are diabolically evil—there are no exceptions.

This is why it is so refreshing and encouraging to make the acquaintances of public officials and political leaders who are not politicians.

It is so refreshing and encouraging to make the acquaintances of public officials and political leaders like P.C. Wu and Sherri Myers—both Pensacola City Council members.

Perhaps very soon I can add to this list of Pensacola City Council members who are not politicians—I certainly hope so.

“…a generous proportion of the country now, and always, eschews extremism, and embraces tolerance of others’ cultures and inheritances and beliefs.  Such folk will be society’s salvation.”
