“HONORABLE PEOPLE PURSUING A JUST AND CIVIL SOCIETY DO NOT SEEK TO DISHONOR AND MARGINALIZE THE HERITAGE AND SYMBOLS OF OTHERS”

“The right to define the meaning of the Confederate Battle Flag or any flag belongs to those who by their history and shed blood own its heritage.  Radical and lawless groups often display the United States flag, but this does not change its true meaning to fair-minded people.  Nor should fair-minded people rightly associate the Confederate Battle Flag with evil because the very same groups expropriate and display it.  No media or self-appointed social designers have the right to define the meaning of the Confederate flags.  The base impropriety of redefining and slandering someone else’s heritage and symbols is incredibly arrogant and stirs up needless strife.  Honorable people pursuing a just and civil society do not seek to dishonor and marginalize the heritage and symbols of others.  The Confederate Battle Flag ought to be the honored heritage of every Southerner and every American.  No cowardice or indifference should allow it to be trampled under the heels of uninformed busybodies and political correctness police.”

RE: HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Congressman Gaetz,

I know you didn’t send this email—it was sent by a robot.

But I hope somehow you can see this reply.

My Thanksgiving is miserable—in part because of some sociopolitical problems that are worsening by the minute, problems that you can probably do something to  help solve.

Congressman  Gaetz, willfully distracted drivers are getting away with murder in Florida because the politicians in Tallahassee refuse to pass any laws restricting mobile usage while driving.  A “law” against texting while driving—as a secondary offense—is not a law.

Please use your power and influence to persuade the Florida State Government to move texting while driving from a secondary-offense position to a primary-offense position—at the very least.  Please do something to stop this slaughter on our roads and highways—the death toll of which keeps rising.

Congressman Gaetz, the posthumous extermination of the Confederate States of America is destructive to the United States of America.

The local politicians here—namely Ashton Hayward, Doug Underhill, Grover C. Robinson IV, Steven Barry, Wilson Robertson (whose seat is now occupied by Jeff Bergosh), and Lumon May—have censored our First Confederate Flag from our Five-Flags Displays (Pensacola’s historical flags displays), since June 24, 2015.  Congressman Gaetz, our First Confederate Flag is still censored from our Five-Flags Displays—and we have never even been allowed to vote on this.

Please use your political power and influence to persuade these local politicians to cease and desist this government-imposed censorship—this local-government infringement on the First-Amendment right to freedom of speech of all Escambia County, Florida, residents, of all races and ethnicities.

Also, please use your political power and influence to persuade the Florida State Government to pass a law, similar to the one the government of my home state of Alabama has passed, protecting all Confederate memorial monuments from removal or destruction by anyone—especially by politicians.

Finally, Congressman Gaetz, because the Dishonorable Nikki R. Haley perpetrated this posthumous extermination of the Confederate States of America, I hate her with all my heart.  This is my problem.

Yet because the Dishonorable Nikki R. Haley exploited the mass murder committed by Dylann Roof, for her political career—from June 22 through July 9, 2015—she is ultimately guilty of the same crime as Dylann Roof.  And this is America’s problem.

And because the Incompetent Donald Trump has chosen to put the Dishonorable Nikki R. Haley in his presidential cabinet—and to keep the Dishonorable Nikki R. Haley in his presidential cabinet—the Incompetent Donald Trump is rewarding the Dishonorable Nikki R. Haley for her criminal exploitation of Dylann Roof’s crime.  And this is humanity’s problem.

Please use your political power and influence to persuade the Incompetent Donald Trump to remove the Dishonorable Nikki R. Haley from his presidential cabinet (by doing so, President Trump can prove that he is not so incompetent anymore).

And if you use your political power and influence for good—by carrying out these urgently needed sociopolitical actions—my next Thanksgiving, as well as the next Thanksgiving of all good Americans, will not likely be miserable at all.

Scott Wesley Mayo

THIS IS YOUR LEGACY, IF YOU DON’T WAKE UP

This is a photograph of the New Orleans Confederate memorial monument honoring P.G.T. Beauregard—taken after Mitch Landrieu’s goons removed the statue of Beauregard from it.

Ugly, isn’t it?

This is Mitch Landrieu’s legacy—leaving scars.

This is Nikki Haley’s legacy—leaving scars.

This is the legacy of all the state and local politicians who have followed Nikki Haley’s lead in censoring their constituents’ historical flags, and destroying their constituents’ historical monuments—without their constituents’ consent.

This is ongoing.  And it will remain ongoing, until every flag, monument, and gravestone representing the historical Confederate States of America is censored and destroyed.

This is your legacy—the legacy of you Digital-Age Southern Americans of all races and ethnicities, if you don’t get your heads out of your apps, and start standing up for your First-Amendment right to freedom of speech.

This is your legacy, if you don’t wake up.

“THIS IS THE REWARD OF ARMED MIGHT, BUT ARMS CAN NEVER ESTABLISH TRUTH”

“It is often said that the victors write the history of wars.  In so doing, they declare the heroes, brand the villains, and rationalize the causes and the conduct of the conflict.  This is the reward of armed might, but arms can never establish truth.

“Before his death in 1864, Irish-born Confederate General, Patrick Cleburne, exhorted his officers with these words:

“‘Surrender means that the history of this heroic struggle will be written by the enemy; that our youth will be trained by Northern school teachers; will learn from Northern school books their version of the War; will be impressed by all the influences of history and education to regard our gallant dead as traitors, and our maimed veterans as fit subjects for derision.’

“There are few better examples of historical distortion in war and its subsequent politics than the demonization of William Clarke Quantrill and his Missouri Partisan Rangers.  Nations often demonize their enemies to wage war.  In the case of Quantrill, the distortions of war propaganda have persisted and even increased to justify modern political fashions.  Behind the demonization of Quantrill, the Missouri Partisan Rangers, and the Confederate cause lies not only an ongoing agenda to justify and glorify the Northern cause, but also a relentless effort to cover up Union despotism and war crimes.  This is all part of a greater picture in which perversions of history and science are orchestrated to justify profound social change—embracing multiculturalism, egalitarianism, humanism, socialism, and quasi-religious Statism.

“Northern propaganda during and after the war was designed to justify the Union cause and to discredit the Confederate cause.  Discrediting Quantrill was essential to defeating Partisan guerilla warfare against Union forces and for rallying the people of Missouri, Kansas, many wavering Union States, and the Northern press to the Federal cause.  In regard to Quantrill and his Missouri Partisan Rangers, no lie in the pursuit of Federal victory was too big, too vicious, or too far from the truth.  Quantrill and other Partisans were depicted as psychopathic killers.  Every Partisan victory was described as a massacre.  Every vile practice and atrocious deed of Kansas Jayhawkers and Redlegs was turned around and attributed to Missouri ‘bushwhackers’ and ‘border ruffians.’  This did not end with the War or Reconstruction.  Much of this same propaganda still pervades the politically correct version of Kansas and Missouri history.”

“NO MATTER HOW LOUD THE SCREAMING”

“Slavery is a part of world history, and it is an important part of American history.  But slavery is one of the subjects Americans cannot have a frank discussion about.  It is too wrapped in emotional, political, and ideological chains.  On the subject of slavery, many Americans, especially in the media and academia, have succumbed to a form of hysteria comparable to the Salem Witch Trials.  If you say anything that contradicts the usual, required extreme image of Southern slavery, you are likely to be shouted down without any consideration of the facts.  If you say anything that contradicts the heroic image of the ‘abolitionist’ movement in pre-Civil War and Reconstruction America, you are also likely to be shouted down without regard to the facts.  This leaves us in a dangerous intellectual, moral, and political straightjacket.  But if we value truth and freedom, we need to look at unadulterated and un-whitewashed truth no matter how loud the screaming.”
