A DIFFERENT APPROACH

Subject: FROM SCOTT MAYO, RE TWO ONLINE PETITIONS I HAVE STARTED

I appreciate your time and consideration, in reading this email.

For a long time now, I’ve been very concerned about the direction our country, the United States, is taking.

Since 2012, I’ve been especially concerned about the destructive impact that unrestrained Digital-Age technology—particularly cellular technology (cellphones and smartphones) and social media (Facebook, Twitter, et al)—is having on our country.

And since June 22, 2015, I’ve been especially concerned about an ongoing trend of state and local politicians censoring their constituents’ historical flags, and destroying their constituents’ historical monuments—without their constituents’ consent.  This posthumous extermination of the Confederate States of America is destructive to the United States of America—and I have been doing all I can to bring awareness to it, and to elicit the help of my fellow Southern Americans, my fellow Americans, and my fellow human beings worldwide, in stopping this destructive trend.

I have started two petitions on the website, Change.org, on which I would appreciate your adding your signature to mine.

The first is to President Trump, requesting that he remove Nikki Haley from his presidential cabinet—because Nikki Haley is the initial perpetrator of this posthumous extermination of the Confederate States of America, and because Nikki Haley is being rewarded for her exploitation of a mass murder.

The second is to Pensacola Mayor Ashton Hayward and the Escambia County Board of County Commissioners to return the First Confederate Flag to its rightful place in Pensacola’s Five-Flags Displays—the historical flags displays of the five nations under which Pensacola, Florida, has lived and thrived.  These local politicians have censored the First Confederate Flag from our historical flags displays since June 24, 2015—without our consent.  They have not even let us vote on this.

Our country, the United States of America, is in serious danger of self-destruction.  The sociopolitical chaos our country is experiencing in this Digital Age is unprecedented in its history.  And this sociopolitical chaos—driven by unrestrained Digital-Age technology—is spreading all over our world.

Most of us seem to be pretending that everything is fine—as if our country’s problems will simply go away if we ignore them.  But this is never the case—no country’s problems simply go away, as if by magic.

Many of us are quite aware of the danger posed to our country, but feel so powerless to do anything about it that we just give up—we just do nothing, and look forward to our deaths, or to a Biblical event that will require no action on our part.

Of course, neither of these approaches is ever effective.

We can turn our country—and our world—around.  But we can only do this together—and with small, incremental actions.

And signing online petitions is a way of taking small, incremental actions together.

Please click on the links below, and—unless either of these petitions is against everything you believe in—add your signature to these online petitions.  Your signature will be greatly appreciated—perhaps more than you know.

And if you want to learn more about the issues mentioned in this email, you are welcome to view my blog, Solosocial, at solosocial.wordpress.com, and to comment on posts, if you so desire.

Again, thank you so much for your time and consideration.

BACK TO THE PEOPLE

Mr. Fagan,

You seem to be surprised that Republican John Bel Edwards is as callous as Democrat Mitch Landrieu.

The Democratic Party has been completely overtaken by liberals since November 22, 1963—and you seem to be aware of this.

But Mr. Fagan, are you aware that the Republican Party has been completely overtaken by neocons (neoconservatives) since June 22, 2015?

And Mr. Fagan, are you aware that the neocons are returning the Republican Party to its historical platform of imperialism and totalitarianism?

And Mr. Fagan, are you aware that there is essentially no difference between liberals (who misrepresent themselves as progressives) and neocons (who misrepresent themselves as conservatives)—and that the liberals and neocons, having completely subverted both the Democratic and Republican parties, are now completely subverting the United States of America, through the now-subversive Democratic and Republican parties?

Mr. Fagan, this is really far out stuff—maybe I’m just delusional, mindlessly spinning conspiracy theories about both the Democratic and Republican parties.

But maybe not—maybe I’m absolutely right on.  And maybe it’s time for Democratic and Republican voters to abandon both the Democratic and Republican parties—and join us independent and third-party voters who are only interested in bringing our government, and our country, back to the people.

Yours sincerely,

Scott Mayo

THIS AMENDMENT BELONGS TO THE PEOPLE

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

More than any other amendment in our Bill of Rights—the first ten amendments to our United States Constitution—this Second Amendment is the one most exploited by politicians, of both the Democratic and Republican parties.

But like every other amendment in our Bill of Rights, this Second Amendment does not belong to the politicians—Democratic or Republican.

This amendment belongs to the people.

GOOD ACTORS

Wouldn’t it be great if the politicians were as good as the roles they played?

Wouldn’t it be great if the people were as good as the roles they played?

THEY ARE THE POLITICIANS

We can support the troops without supporting the war.

And they can support the war without supporting the troops.

We are the people.

And they are the politicians—both Democratic and Republican.

SOME MEMES THAT MAKE YOU THINK

SAY NO TO CENSORSHIP

On June 24, 2015, Republican Pensacola Mayor Ashton Hayward censored the First Confederate Flag from Pensacola’s Five-Flags Displays.  He did this without the consent of his constituents.

Mayor Hayward stated, in a press release:

“While the Confederate Flag undeniably represents a part of Pensacola’s history, to many it is a painful symbol of racial hatred and intolerance.”

Mayor Hayward didn’t mention that the “Confederate Flag” he had censored was not the Confederate Battle Flag—but the First Confederate Flag.  This flag:

On June 25, 2015, Escambia County Democratic Women’s Club President Dianne Krumel made this demand of the Escambia County Commission:

“I understand the flags are down, but I want to make it permanent.  I don’t want any chance of those flags going back up.”

All five members of the Escambia County Commission—Republican Doug Underhill, Republican Grover C. Robinson IV, Republican Steven Barry, Republican Wilson Robertson (whose seat is now occupied by Republican Jeff Bergosh), and Democrat Lumon May—gave in to Dianne Krumel’s demand, and chose to keep the First Confederate Flag censored from Pensacola’s Five-Flags Displays.  They did this without the consent of their constituents—including me.

This government-imposed censorship of the First Confederate Flag, from our historical flags displays, continues—without our consent.

Yet now there is a way you can help me put a stop to this government-imposed censorship of our historical flags displays here in Greater Pensacola, Florida—and you don’t even have to be a resident of Greater Pensacola, Florida, to do it.

I’ve started an online petition to have the First Confederate Flag returned to its rightful place in Pensacola’s Five-Flags Displays:

https://www.change.org/p/pensacola-mayor-ashton-hayward-and-the-escambia-county-board-of-county-commissioners-return-the-first-confederate-flag-to-its-rightful-place-in-pensacola-s-five-flags-displays

Are you as opposed to government-imposed censorship as I am?

Then click on the link above, and sign the petition—and together we can say no to censorship.

THIS TIME THEY GOT IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME

“Scott Mayo, who walked into the council chambers with a large (First) Confederate flag, told members of the council he attended a protest in Lee Square in August, and the media were the ones who made it a racial issue.

“‘This is something the press keeps lying about, generally speaking,’ Mayo said. ‘It keeps trying to make this a racial issue.  This isn’t a racial issue about the Confederate memorials in this country.  If anything, it’s literally a generational issue.'”

HOW ABOUT YOU, PENSACOLA?

On June 24, 2015, Republican Pensacola Mayor Ashton Hayward censored the First Confederate Flag from Pensacola’s Five-Flags Displays.  He did this without the consent of his constituents.

Mayor Hayward stated, in a press release:

“While the Confederate Flag undeniably represents a part of Pensacola’s history, to many it is a painful symbol of racial hatred and intolerance.”

Mayor Hayward didn’t mention that the “Confederate Flag” he had censored was not the Confederate Battle Flag–but the First Confederate Flag.  This flag:

On June 25, 2015, Escambia County Democratic Women’s Club President Dianne Krumel made this demand of the Escambia County Commission:

“I understand the flags are down, but I want to make it permanent.  I don’t want any chance of those flags going back up.”

All five members of the Escambia County Commission–Republican Doug Underhill, Republican Grover C. Robinson IV, Republican Steven Barry, Republican Wilson Robertson, and Democrat Lumon May–gave in to Dianne Krumel’s demand, and chose to keep the First Confederate Flag censored from Pensacola’s Five-Flags Displays.  They did this without the consent of their constituents–including me.

This government-imposed censorship of the First Confederate Flag, from our historical flags displays, continues–without our consent.

On July 29, 2015, Monica Miller, of the American Humanist Association, emailed a thirteen-page letter to Republican Pensacola Mayor Ashton Hayward, City Attorney Lysia Bowling, and City of Pensacola Parks & Recreation Director Brian Cooper, demanding that a historical cross be censored from Bayview Park.  She emailed a copy of this letter to the East Hill Neighborhood Association.

Miller’s letter began thus:

“A City of Pensacola resident has contacted our office on behalf of several concerned residents to request assistance with regard to what is correctly perceived as a constitutional violation.  Specifically, the City of Pensacola is violating the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment by prominently displaying a towering, stand-alone Latin cross–a Christian symbol–on government property in Bayview Park.  An image of this cross is provided below.

“Because this cross violates the Establishment Clause, we hereby demand that the City promptly remove it to private property, and if the City does not, our organization will pursue the matter through litigation in federal court.”

And Miller’s letter ended thus:

“In view of the aforementioned authorities, it is clear that the City is in violation of the Establishment Clause.  This letter serves as an official notice of the unconstitutional activity and demands that the City remove the cross from Bayview Park immediately.  We kindly ask that you notify us in writing within seven (7) days of receipt of this letter setting forth the steps you will take to rectify this constitutional infringement.  Thank you for turning your attention to this important matter.”

The Bayview Park Cross has now been ruled unconstitutional by a federal judge. The City of Pensacola is appealing this ruling, with pro bono legal representation by the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty–and U.S. District Court Judge Roger Vinson has suspended his order to remove the Bayview Park Cross by July 19, 2017, pending this appeal.

An “important matter” indeed.

Yet this “important matter” didn’t even exist until Republican Mayor Ashton Hayward censored the First Confederate Flag from Pensacola’s Five-Flags Displays, without the consent of his constituents, and all five members of the Escambia County Commission–Republican Doug Underhill, Republican Grover C. Robinson IV, Republican Steven Barry, Republican Wilson Robertson, and Democrat Lumon May–chose to keep the First Confederate Flag censored from Pensacola’s Five-Flags Displays, without the consent of their constituents.

Because of abusive local politicians (all but one of whom are Republicans)–and Digital-Age Pensacolians mindlessly tolerating their abuse–Pensacola is no longer the City of Five Flags.

Yet Pensacola may soon be known, nationwide, as the City of Censorship.

And there are numerous potential targets for pro-censorship activists in Pensacola, Florida.

Here are just a few of them:

Pro-censorship activists can make an “important matter” of every single one of the above Pensacola icons–and countless more.

Yet it’s not pro-censorship activists who abuse the people–it’s corrupt and cowardly politicians who give in to them.  Corrupt and cowardly politicians like Democrat Lumon May, Republican Wilson Robertson (and his exact-duplicate replacement, Republican Jeff Bergosh), Republican Steven Barry, Republican Grover C. Robinson IV, Republican Doug Underhill–and especially Republican Ashton Hayward, who started this vicious cycle of censorship in Pensacola, on June 24, 2015.

Instead of censoring historical flags and crosses, I’d rather censor corrupt and cowardly politicians who engage in government-imposed censorship–who infringe on their constituents’ First-Amendment right to freedom of speech.  I’d rather straighten those bastards out–or get them out of office.

How about you, Pensacola?
